CARE & MAINTENANCE

Incorporating natural stone in your bathroom, kitchen, fireplace, or floors adds character and a personal touch to your home's décor. Keeping these unique pieces of marble, granite, or other natural stone material maintained and at their best takes a professional's touch. Cleaner Image Marble is here to resolve your natural stone problems and provide the best quality stone maintenance services around.
Once serviced, wet mop floor bi-weekly or more often as needed but not more than once a week (see #4 for recommended products). More frequent wet mopping can cause a build-up of products on the surface causing more dirt/debris to stick to this build-up. Always use a cotton mop head which can be removed from the mop handle for machine washing and drying. A clean mop = a clean floor. Another key component to wet mopping is keeping your mop water clean (clear). If it begins to get dirty (cloudy), change out your water. Clean countertops using MB-5 Marble, Granite and More Spray Cleaner. (see #4 for details).
Wipe up spills as quickly as possible after occurrence. Any acidic which contacts any natural surface has the potential of etching (causing a low-sheen dull appearance in area of spill). If etching occurs, it can only be removed by refinishing the area. Placing a topical "wax" or other topical product on these areas will not remove the etch and reduces the natural appearance of the surface.
Only use cleaning products which specifically state they are safe for natural stone and marble surfaces. We recommend MB Stone Care products which can be ordered through our website by clicking the link to MB Stone Care found on the home page. These products include: MB-1 Marble, Granite and More Floor Cleaner (MB01) for floors available in quart or gallon size, MB-3 Soap Film Remover (MB03) for shower walls and shower floors, MB-9 Mildew Stain Remover (MB09) for shower walls and shower floors, MB-5 Marble, Granite and More Spray Cleaner (MB05) for countertops. A kit of the last three products is also available (MBBSKIT). Some of these are highly concentrated so dilution is needed. Others are pre-mixed. Always read the instructions on each product prior to use. Using more of any of the concentrated products can cause build-up and IS NOT BETTER.
Products to avoid are all acidic based chemicals/liquids. Do NOT use vinegar, Tilex or similar mildew removal products, citrus based products/soaps, toilet bowl cleaners or anything not specifically safe for natural marble and stone. Even some Windex products contain vinegar or an acidic based chemical. ALWAYS read the label.
